The current Chair of Amnesty Barbados is Sister Mary Claire Zitman
The organisation has a strong background in Anti Death Penalty
campaigns under the previous leadership of Lester Springer.
Amnesty International Barbados has cooperated in the past with
The NGO Caribbean Development foundation on a series of capacity building workshops for NGOs in the Human Rights and Women’s Rights sectors.
At present the organisation is involved in the Violence against women
campaign launched by The NGO Caribbean Development Foundation.

The mission of the NGO Caribbean Development Foundation is to contribute to the development of the NGO sector in the Caribbean region, by working with the sector and regional governments to redefine the role of the sector in the region, and its ability to impact on the policy making decisions of regional governments as an equal partner in providing support and help to the most vulnerable members of our societies.
